The platform aims to meet the new health and safety challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, according to Marriott News Center.
“We want our guests to understand what we are doing today and planning for in the near future in the areas of cleanliness, hygiene, and social distancing so that when they walk through the doors of one of our hotels, they know our commitment to their health and safety is our priority,” said Arne Sorenson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International.
Marriott has a long reputation for high standards of cleanliness. However, with the new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are taking it one step further to advance the company’s efforts in the area of cleanliness.
The Council is partnering with in-house and outside experts specializing in housekeeping, engineering, food safety, occupational health, and associate wellbeing.
Over the next few months, Marriott is rolling out enhanced technologies including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectant to sanitize surfaces. The CDC and WHO recommend these disinfectants, which are proven to treat known pathogens.
