This initiative comes to light after states across the country have begun to announce reopening dates. Most recently, the Texas stay-at-home order plans to expire this Thursday with businesses to reopen in phases starting Friday.
As a result of this initiative, AHLA seeks to change hotel industry standards to ensure a safe and clean stay for hotel guests.
“Hotels have always had rigorous standards for cleaning and safety,” said Chip Rogers, president and CEO of AHLA. “With Safe Stay we are enhancing these standards to help create peace of mind.”
With the help of public health experts, scientists, and medical leaders, the AHLA Safe Stay Advisory Council is developing best practices for the hotel industry.
